[Audio] Skyzoo - Play Your Position (ft. Guily Simpson)

"So at #21, this is "Play Your Position" f/Guilty Simpson, produced by Black Milk. This is from my 2007 mixtape "Corner Store Classic". This one is real gritty, and at the same time real lyric heavy. I always respected and was a fan of Guilty's pen game, and we had been talking about collabing on a joint for awhile, so I came up with this. Black Milk did the beat (top 10 producers dead or alive, quote that), and as soon as I heard it, I knew it had to be a hard gutter joint, hands down. Guilty and i just went in with the bars and kept the rhymes in sync with the feel of the beat. This was one of my faves off the tape. Here it is, "Play Your Position" f/Guilty Simpson, produced by Black Milk. Holla. PS: Pick up that "Tronic" joint from Black Milk, and get ready for "The Power Of Words" and "The Salvation", both right around the corner... P.S.S: By the time the next archive is released we'll have a new president. PLEEEEAAASSSEEE go out on November 4th and VOTE! This is the most crucial election to date. Vote for whomever you feel best represents you and what you need/want (hopefully you're voting for Barack Obama). I cant tell you who to go vote for, but if govenor S_r_h Pa_in gets to become president due to John McCain leaving this earth before his term ends (God forbid), we're DONE. If that happens im moving to Toronto. Bet that. 100" - Skyzoo

[Video] Skyzoo - No Pretendin (Prod. by Pete Rock)

[Video] Joe Budden TV: Liars!!!!

Liars!!! (Pt. 1)

In this edition of Joe Budden TV, Joell Ortiz & Joey argue over who had the better verse on a new track they recorded. To give us viewers an idea of whose was better, they go ahead and play the entire joint. Personally it sounded like Joell's was better, but that's off my first listen. Take a listen and decide for yourself, hopefully they'll leak the mp3 version soon. Also check out part two below, Joey & Ortiz continue to argue over who spits hotter verses and Charles Hamilton & Crooked I make cameo appearances.

More Lies! (Pt. 2)

[Audio] J.R Writer - Flamez

Here is a new track from dipset affiliate J.R Writer off his upcoming mixtape Writers Block Vol. 6. He has been relatively quiet since the Diplomats split up, but he should be making a return to promote his new mixtape. He is also working on another album entitled, Cinecrack, which should be out sometime in 2009.

[Audio] Jay-Z - Heart of The City (Sunday Bloody Sunday Edition)

I meant to post this track the other day but I was busy enjoying the NY Knicks season opening victory. Anyway here is a live version of "Heart of The City" that Jay did during a tour stop in Dublin in 2006. DJ Green Lantern sampled U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday," and had Dante Hawkins sing the hook. I'm also posting another version featuring Chris Martin from Coldplay and The Hustlers Symphony Orchestra. Props to the homie Eskay from NahRight for both tracks. By the way, The Blueprint 3 will not be coming this year...

[Audio] Skyzoo - The Bodega + Stop Fooling Yourself + You & Me

So on this wedenesday edition of the Skyzoo Archives he drops a Special Cloud 9 Edition. With three tracks produced by 9th Wonder off their collabo EP, Cloud 9.

"So at #20, I figured I’d make it really special by doing a 3 for 1 edition all from Cloud 9, my collabo EP with 9th Wonder. Cloud 9 is a 12 song EP that 9th Wonder and I did in 2006. The project was written and recorded in 3 days total, and wound up becoming one of the most talked about and respected projects that year. I always tell 9th that I got him for life on whatever because he let me kick in the door and get my name known with that project, and we really just did it to do it. 9th was the one who said “lets put it out for the people to enjoy”. Im very proud of this whole experience and greatful to all the fans who supported and became fans after hearing this EP. Here’s a quick breakdown of 3 of my faves off of the project.

“The Bodega” was the first song to leak from the cd. 9th actually leaked it himself which started the bidding war between the indie labels wanting to release it. This song is a day in front of the store, simple as that. I wrote it easily because its what I know. Everything that I wrote on this track (like always) really happened. Whether you’re from New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Baltimore, Compton or any other hood, you can relate to this. There’s a corner in every city, with a store sitting right on it, open 24/7.

“Stop Fooling Yourself” is a description of the blurred line between tryna go to college and tryna keep the lights on. Sometimes the college struggle is just as hard as the street struggle, or at least tryna get into one. Needless to say, this also really happened.

“You & Me” is a song that all my female fans were accquired off of. I originally wrote an R&B song to it and was gonna sell it to a female singer, but I got greedy and decided to keep the beat. So I wrote some of my life to it and put it on the EP. I love this record. We’ve all been through this at one point or another. And yep, you guessed it, this all really happened.

So here’s “The Bodega”, “Stop Fooling Yourself”, and “You & Me”, as part of a 3 for 1 special from Cloud 9, all produced by 9th Wonder. Holla. PS, if you dont have Cloud 9, log onto iTunes or amazon.com right now." - Skyzoo

[Audio] Skyzoo - Ghetto America

Above is a video of Skyzoo & Torae performing, "Get It Done", produced by DJ Premier. Below is track 19 in the Archive Series...

So at #19, this is “Ghetto America-2007″, produced by Hi-Tek. This is from my “Corner Store Classic” mixtape that I dropped in 2007. The tape was a huge success (XL rating in XXL mag, 4/5 on Rapmullet, etc), and the amount of downloads was insane. Kay Slay and Mick Boogie hosted it, and everyone from Sean Price to Maino to Nina B were all on it, so if you never got it, feel free to download it at www.datpiff.com. This song though was one of my favorites on it. The beat is a Talib instrumental that Hi-Tek did, and when I heard it, the story was already written in the sample. When I write, I do whatever the beat tells me to. I go off of the mood of the beat, and this one had it all written out. This song sums up alot of my upbringing as an 80’s baby (born in ‘82) and raised throughout the 80’s and 90’s. If youre from NY and were around during that time frame, you should remember everything that im talking about in the song. I made it completely visual and my hood is painted all through the bars. This is the type of shit my album is gonna sound like, so if you like this, you’re gonna ABSOLUTELY LOVE “The Salvation”, because the whole thing is like this but 10 levels higher. Speaking of which, im about 5 songs away from completion, and the mixtape is getting some steam on it too, so get ready. Without any further ado, here’s “Ghetto America”, produced by Hi-Tek. Holla - Skyzoo

[Audio] K. Sparks - Spittaz

Sparks drops another joint produced by Moe Productions for week nine in his Manic Mondays Series. For the past eight joints click the link below...

[Audio] Skyzoo ft. MC - For The Love Of The Game

"So we’re at #18, and this one is “For The Love Of The Game” feat. MC, prod. by drawzilla. This is a joint that my man Drawzilla wanted me to do for his compilation album in late 2007. He sent me the beat and pretty much said “its all on you, do whatever the track tells you too”, so that’s what I did.The record is really me talking to the music as if it were a girl im dating. People have done that in the past, so I put a twist on it as far as the outcome and my decisions on staying with her. Once I finished the record, Draw got his man MC to sing on the hook, and he definitly got busy with it.Drawzilla did the beat, and he’s been doing big things with the music for awhile now (MTV placements, Remy Ma joints, etc.), so look out for him. Here’s “For The Love Of The Game” feat. MC, prod. by drawzilla. Holla. Oh, and the album is almost done, and its coming out CRAAAAAZZZYYYY!!! 100"- Skyzoo

Sky drops #17 on us in the Archive Series...
This time he liberates a joint off AC's second mixtape...
Produced by Hi-Tek, with a real laid back feel...

"At #17 in the series, this joint is called “Good Looking-2007″ featuring AC, produced by Hi-Tek. This is a joint that I did with AC in 2007. He had this concept to say good looking to everyone who ever helped or hated through out his career thus far. I dug the idea so I knew it would be a dope record. Hi-Tek did the beat, and it has that vintage tek sound that he’s known for. If you have AC’s mixtape from early 2007 then you’ve heard this before, but if you dont, enjoy the new old. haha. “Good Looking” featuring AC, produced by Hi-Tek. Holla."- Skyzoo

I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this banger and
let Peter Rosenberg explain the track for y'all...

"A week from tomorrow, I am dropping “A Rosenberg Oddisee”, six song EP recorded in one day and produced entirely by my man Oddisee. This is the first record I wanted people to hear. Saigon absolutely murders this track and Lil Fame showing up was completely random. It was truly hip hop magic and don’t you worry–it was all captured on video (more on that later). The EP features tracks from Buckshot, Skyzoo, Nikki Jean, and more. It is honestly one of the best hip hop EPs I’ve ever heard. I know I’m talking mad sh*t, but I absolutely LOVE this record. And those of you unfamiliar with Oddisee–GET FAMILIAR!"

[Audio] K. Sparks - Hip-Hop

K. Sparks drops #8 in his Manic Monday series...

Sparks will continue to drop a new song every Monday for the entire year...

Be on the lookout for the Blue & Red tapes coming soon...

The Blue Tape: Will be an EP that will be Produced by my friend/underground producer Moe. For any of ya'll that have followed my career ya'll know me and Moe go back like waves and doo rags, this shit is gonna hit hard. I call it the blue tape because it will be real laid back e.g. jazz blues music. But of course wit that Hip Hop fusion.

The Red Tape: Will be an EP that will be Produced by my friend/underground producer Kurser. Me and Kurser have been makin some heat, so we figured why not put out a real dope project. Both of these will be dropping soon so I'll keep you posted...

"This is another record from The Blue Tape...it's essentially a song about Hip Hop music...when this song was recorded I was in the studio with Angelous and Kid Cudi...Moe Productions did the beat and it's dope...myself and Moe have a dope chemistry because we have been working together for years...his beats are real melodic and they always have a certain vibe that captures mood music...I'll check ya'll next week." -K. I haven't heard a new Sam Scarfo track in awhile but this joint is nicee...
I'm not sure if this is brand new, it may have been recorded during their tour together in 2006.
Anyway it's still a dope song, and it's always good to hear new Ghost'...
