[Audio] Grand Theft Auto: The Lost & Damned EP

The homie Statik Selektah is on his bonafied grizzly these days, recording an album with Sai' in 24 hours, working on the 1982 album with Termanology, & still managing to record this dope EP for the new Grand Theft Auto: Lost and Damned video game. The EP is produced entirely by Statik Selektah and features joints from Consequence, Freeway, Saigon, Skyzoo, Termanology & Talib Kweli. The mix can be heard in it's entirety during the game, or can be purchased through iTunes or Amazon. Enjoy a couple of my fav' cuts off the album for now.

[Audio] Rakewon - Realer (ft. Maino)

Gotta love this pic of Raekwon "The Chef," and this new joint he cooked up with Brooklyn MC Maino titled, "Realer." It's good to see Rae' dropping a song a week these days, instead of a song every couple months. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 is still scheduled for an April 7th release, Wu fans rejoice.

[Audio] K. Sparks - Genesis

"I was in the middle of going through a lot of beats that were not grabbin me at all...after a while I got bored and put the pen down to start watching some super clear bootleg DVDs...one flick had Samuel L Jackson talkin about how he is the Genesis and that no one can fuck wit him...I thought the concept was cool and so I started lookin for a beat that could match the Genesis vibe I was goin for...then I came across this joint that T-Mos sent me...when I heard it the beat made me want to emphasize clever word play along with solid punch lines...the song has a cocky tone but it's merited...thanks for all of the support...check it out"-K. [Audio] Rick Ross - Kiss My Pinky Ring, Curly (50 Cent Diss)

So after numerous radio interviews Rawse finally drops his own diss track at 50. After listening to the track, Ross definitely does not go in on this one, deciding rather to spit garbage lyrics with weak punchlines. The beat selection couldn't of been worse, rhyming over Black Rob's "Special Delivery,"which certainely is not the best choice for a diss record. All in all Ross should just give up as soon as possible; the internet soliders have spoken and are siding with 50 on this one.

Artist Spotlight: Suave The Ape

Let me introduce you to a dope up-coming MC out of New Brunswick, NJ, who goes by the name, Suave The Ape. He has been quietly doing his thing for a couple years now, having already released his debut album, Thoughts Of An Ape, in 2008. He describes himself as, "a poet. I put my feelings, thoughts, and visions into my work. & I express them on a beat." The joints I posted are featured on his forthcoming mixtape, The Ape Still Remains, which will be followed up by his next album, Planet of The Apes. Download the joints and give dude a chance, he's representing for the cats trying to bring real hip-hop back to the top.
